He was only 18 years old when he entered the competition and immediately left the panel of judges in awe with his rendition of Billy Joel’s “Everybody Has a Dream” – and he didn’t just sing it, but also played the song on saxophone. His journey wasn’t a smooth one as he was once in the bottom four on the show, but he managed to make his way to the top five with his unforgettable performances that incorporated his saxophone skills.
Ubay has launched his first mini album titled “U Turn”. In “U Turn” part one, Ubay explores his knack for the R&B genre, inspired by world-renowned musicians like Usher, Brian McKnight and Ne-Yo. In the album, Ubay turns tales of broken hearts and regrets into emotionally touching songs, like “Number One Girl” – where he duets with another newcomer, Trichia.
