Ubud Food Festival Embracing the Theme Heritage for Its 10th Year

Bali’s celebrated food festival returns with the theme Heritage, honouring Indonesia’s rich culinary traditions while exploring the vibrant evolution of the country’s food scene.

Bali’s most anticipated food event returns from 30 May to 1 June 2025. Celebrating its 10th year with the theme “Heritage”, the festival highlights Indonesia’s rich food culture and explores how tradition continues to shape the nation’s ever-evolving culinary scene.

Alongside the theme launch, the festival revealed its official artwork by Balinese illustrator Gusde Sidhi. His piece honours Indonesia’s culinary landscape through cultural symbolism, drawing inspiration from traditional aesthetics. With its intricate motifs and detailed illustrations, the artwork celebrates the beauty of Indonesia’s most cherished dishes and the deep connection between food, tradition and community.

From talented young chefs redefining Indonesian cuisine to beloved culinary heroes showcasing the classics with flair, this year’s festival is a tribute to the country’s remarkable culinary identity. It also serves as a reminder that heritage is not just a thing of the past – it’s something that’s nurtured and celebrated every single day.

As in previous years, gourmands can enjoy the festival’s renowned free Food Market, while enjoying a curated selection of special events. Masterclasses will place attendees at the heart of culinary brilliance, offering personal tips and hands-on guidance to perfect their dishes. Live cooking demonstrations at the Teater Kuliner stage will allow festival-goers to engage with culinary talents as they present their signature dishes.

Meanwhile, the Food for Thought stage will bring together consumers and producers to share stories, network and collaborate in shaping a vibrant, sustainable culinary future. Featuring exceptional local changemakers, environmental heroes, hardworking farmers and pioneering organisations, this platform will unite the region’s innovators to discuss major issues and fresh ideas.
