Honouring a single individual who fought hard for women’s rights in Indonesia, the five-star resort presents the Celebrate Women event.
Kartini Day holds a special place in the hearts of Indonesians, commemorating the legacy of Raden Ajeng Kartini, a pioneer for women’s rights and education in the Indonesian archipelago. In honour of this remarkable woman, The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali has curated an afternoon brimming with inspiration, insight and celebration.
Aptly named Celebrate Women, the event will take place on Saturday, 27 April 2024 starting at 3pm. Celebrate Women is centred around a series of thought-provoking talks given by renowned speakers who have made important contributions to their respective fields.
The founder and executive director of Solar Chapter, Mustika Wijaya, will discuss her experience using solar-powered water systems to transform rural Indonesian landscapes. Joining her is Nana Mirdad, owner of Namir Beauty and a fervent advocate for healthy lifestyles. Inspired by her love of makeup, Nana’s venture into the worlds of fashion and beauty shows the value of following one’s dreams without fear.
Last but certainly not least, Becky Tumewu, a prominent public figure and advocate for education advancement in Indonesia, will grace the event. As the co-founder of TALK-inc, Becky has been instrumental in empowering individuals to enhance their communication and public speaking skills, thereby paving the way for brighter futures.
Guests will be treated to a symphony of flavours as they engage in discussions over delicious afternoon tea prepared by Westin Women’s Chefs. In the meantime, lively bazaars, a silent auction and Menggah Agung’s fashion show are guaranteed to liven up the day.
